What can I expect during a treatment?
You can expect to feel deeply relaxed. The needles are inserted gently, coordinated with the breath and making sure that you are comfortable. Typically patients rest for 30-40 minutes during the treatment. A heat lamp and calm music are available. People often fall asleep or simply rest during a treatment. It is a wonderful opportunity to be still.
How often should I come?
There is no hard and fast answer. For chronic conditions I usually recommend 10 treatments that can start weekly and then become more spread out as the condition improves. Each treatment plan is decided on an individual basis, taking into consideration an individual’s condition, time and budget.
What does it cost?
I have a sliding scale from $85-$110 for an acupuncture appointment. Each patient chooses the amount they can afford within that scale. An initial, thorough health history is done prior to the first treatment and costs an additional one-time $60.
Will my insurance cover Acupuncture?
I am happy to work with any insurance that covers Acupuncture. Please check with your insurance company to see if they have an actual benefit that pays for or reimburses for Acupuncture.
Can I do Acupuncture if I do other forms of treatments as well?
Yes. There is no conflict with other treatment modalities.
Can I take Chinese Herbs if I also take prescribed medicines?
It depends. I use a reliable drug-herb interaction checker before deciding that Chinese Herbal Medicine can safely be taken with other medicines.
